Scot Doors (secured by Design)

All Scotdoors styles feature a bonded composite construction comprising: 6mm hardwood veneered laminated sheeting. 0.3mm aluminium plate. 48mm insulated core.

This balanced construction gives a high degree of stability, the aluminium providing an effective moisture barrier. The insulating core provides exceptional U-value (0.84) and significantly reduces the effects of temperature differential - the most common cause of door failure.

The frame can be constructed from quality redwood or hardwood. Redwood is the standard.

Door  Frame
Stiles 116 x 56mm 92 x 56mm
Head 116 x 56mm  92 x 68mm
Middle Rail  162 x 56mm  N/A
Bottom Rail  162 x 56mm  N/A
Sole  N/A Aluminium

To resist foot traffic wear, all frames and sidelights have a durable hardwood threshold. For wheelchair access, special low level thresholds can be provided in accordance with Dept of Environment & Welsh Office, Access & Facilities for Disabled People, Approved Document M 1999 Edition and Scottish Executive Technical Standards, Access & Facilities for Dwellings Pt. Q, Amended December 1999.

With a combination of rebated doors and frames, integral draught stripping and a low level weather bar, Scotdoors provide an effective barrier against adverse weather conditions.

Scotdoors have been independently tested and approved to PAS 23-1:1999, achieving the following classifications:

Air Permeability: 600 Pa
Water Tightness: 200 Pa
Wind Resistance:  2400 Pa
Exposure Category rating: 2400 Special

Our standard range is shown. Individual customer specifications can be provided on request. When combined with our sidelight options, ranging from 300-600mm, sets can be produced to fit almost any door opening.

Panel mouldings on the outer face of the door can be provided on the inside if required. These designs are also available as raised and fielded panels. Inward opening doors are supplied as standard. Outward opening doors are available on request.

A range of options for ironmongery, glazing and decorative finishes is available with a 3-point locking system provided as standard. Single point locking is offered as an option and provided as standard on fire doors.

Brassed handles are fitted as standard. Alternative styles and finishes are available on request as are brassed letterboxes, door viewers and security.

Scotdoors have a number of features to provide a high level of resistance to forced entry:

• Hung on 3 heavy duty hinges
• Rebated door/frame combination
• Security glazing to all apertures
• 3-point locking system (on non fire doors) • PAS 23-24 1999

To complement the excellent insulation qualities of the doors, 24mm (4/16/4) units are used to glaze both doors and sidelights. Obscure glazing is provided as standard, with clear glass available if specified.

A range of special glazing, including Low E and bronze anti-sun, is available on request as is a range of decorative glazing in either luxury leaded glass or economy screen printing, some of which are illustrated.

Scotdoors are supplied fully factory finished, unless otherwise requested. A coatings warranty of up to 8 years is available, according to the type of coating specified. Frames and sidelights are supplied fully factory finished and therefore warranty covered.

Our extended coatings warranty may be available on Dual Turn windows that are fully finished in our factory. Please ask for further details.

Single leaf doors can be accommodated between the following overall frame sizes:

Width: 800 - 1036mm
Height: 2000 - 2300mm

With the inclusion of sidelights and/or fanlights, an extensive range of sizes is available. For new build a standard size of 950 x 2100mm is used for Part M.
